Update: v1.0.3
Here's the update mentioned last week. Since the Fixamatron has been quiet of late, it's mostly focused on adding features and polishing the user-interface a little. Two notable improvements are designed to make on-screen reading easier for tired eyes:
- You can now zoom the text size up or down
- In full-screen mode, you can now change a book's margins, just by dragging them to a new width
Note that both these changes are temporary — meaning, they don't change the book itself, and won't affect printing — they just affect how the book is viewed on-screen.
Also, the book layouts are designed for "normal" size and margins — if you stretch either of these too far, the book's front-covers in particular may look rather strange! However, this probably doesn't bother you while you're engrossed in the book itself, and if large print or shorter lines help you read, you'll find this useful.
Another couple of features included in this version are:
- You can drag-and-drop books, once they're downloaded, either to the Trash to delete them, or to a Finder window (or the Desktop) to make a copy.
- Registered users can also now export books in a variety of formats: plain text, which writes out the original, raw text of the book (unprocessed by Voluminous), HTML which is the closest match to what you see inside Voluminous itself, and RTF which is compatible with TextEdit and other applications you're likely to have already on your computer.
There are also some new style variants. Someone asked specifically for a version of the Autumn style, but without the tree. Done! Also, two new Woodcuts.
Full release-notes are included in the update, as always.
